Job Description:

The Ware Washer is responsible for the washing of all cafeteria, patient tray, and kitchen dishes. They will also assist the cooks with patient order preparation including tray assembly, stocking of snacks on nursing units, and serving visitors in the cafeteria. They will deliver patient trays in a professional and customer friendly manner.  They will maintain a clean and safe environment following the safety guidelines set by Columbus Community Hospital (CCH), State and Federal regulations. Actively participates in the call center.


The Cook is responsible for the preparation of food for patients and the cafeteria menu. They will pre-dish patient food items and assemble patient trays. The Cook is also responsible for sanitation, upkeep of the food service/culinary dept., and making sure that all food safety and quality standards are followed.


The Lead Cook is responsible for the preparation of food for patients and the cafeteria menu. They will pre-dish patient food items and assemble patient trays. The Cook is also responsible for sanitation, upkeep of the food service/culinary dept., and making sure that all food safety and quality standards are followed. The cook will be responsible for oversight of the food service/culinary dept. in absence of the Manager of Food, Nutrition and Diabetes Services

Preferred Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent desirable
  • Serv Safe Food Manager certification required within 4 months of start date or within 3 attempts to pass the exam, whichever comes first.
  • Preferred knowledge of therapeutic diets
  • Previous institutional cooking or food service desirable
