FREQUENTLY ASKED QUETIONS:
Do I need to fast for the laboratory work my physician ordered?
The fasting requirements for test vary. You should always follow the instructions given to you by your healthcare provider. Lipid testing (cholesterol) and fasting glucoses generally require a fast of 6-12 hours.
How will I find out the results of my test?
Upon completion, test results are sent to your healthcare provider either electronically or with paper copy. Your healthcare provider will determine how best to communicate the results to you.
Do I need to schedule an appointment to have my tests done?
Most laboratory testing can be done without an appointment. There are specific times when a sample can only be collected in the beginning of a week. This allows the sample to be forwarded to a reference laboratory in a timely manner. Please follow the specific instructions given to you by your healthcare provider.
