The Columbus Community Hospital Surgical Services Department provides coverage for you and your family 24 hours a day, seven days a week in our surgical suites, located on the hospital's ground level. Regular hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with elective procedures taking place between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Emergency surgeries are also performed.
Minor surgical procedures - such as carpal tunnel repairs, laparoscopic gallbladder surgeries, or cataract surgery - are performed on an outpatient basis, with patients often spending only a few hours at the hospital.
Major surgeries - such as total joint replacements, prostate surgery, or hysterectomies - which require hospitalization overnight or for several days, are also available from a variety of physician providers.
All surgical procedures must be scheduled by a surgeon, with a referral from your family physician.
