Community Resource Center
Have you ever wondered how the Resource Center can help patients or family members? Columbus Community Hospital’s Resource Center is currently located on the Ground Floor next to the Education Classroom. Next fall the Community Resource Center will be opening on the first floor sharing space with the new Gift Shop and Coffee Shop.
The purpose for the Resource Center and the future Community Resource Center is to provide patients or family members detailed health information and research findings.. The Resource Center can be utilized to explain ailments, diseases, break down medical jargon and to provide empowerment to the patient or family member.
We have over 500 books, videos, periodicals and we have internet access to many helpful medical sites including WEBMD. Subjects range from healthy dieting to chronic illness all the way to stress management. The Resource Center is free and open 24 hours a day. When the new Community Resource Center is opened we will have hours of operation and those hours have yet to be determined. Community members can access printing and downloading material at no charge. We have 3 public computers available for use along with two printers.
The Education Department is available to assist visitors and staff in finding information and to assist with training on how to use the internet. If someone is seeking information and cannot get to the Resource Center, please feel free to contact Chris at x1276 and let him know what you are looking for. We will attempt to locate the information and deliver it to a patient’s room or mail it to their home address.
Our vision is to see our community members take an active role in understanding and maintaining their health. Remember we want people to understand that you don’t always have to go to the hospital when you are sick.
